The behavior you are experiencing is actually due to the way that the Drag and Drop widget works. The files uploaded through this widget are not directly uploaded with the submission - the files are uploaded before the submission is made (when you click Begin Upload button of the widget), and they are stored in the separate storage of that widget on our servers. Note that the images are separated from the form itself.
Due to the way this widget works, the widget only forwards a direct download link of the uploaded image as its value along with the submission that happens when you actually submit the form. The data from the Drag and Drop widget is always provided only as a download link, whichever of the services you decide to integrate your form with (such as Dropbox, or Google).
If you want to collect the images directly on your Dropbox, please use a regular File Upload field instead.
