I received more submissions than I expected and had to upgrade in the middle of the month. I figured I would be charged at the higher level, but looking at the invoices I'm afraid I was charged $19 for 6 days at the Bronze level. Is that correct?
Secondly, the contest ends on Jan. 15th, but I'm scheduled for a downgrade on the 9th. Is there any way to extend that, or downgrade to the Bronze plan, not the Free plan?

I checked our email logs and I can see you have purchased two subscriptions.
The first one was paid through PayPal, the Subscription Number is : S-01J0848534117400R and it was purchased on December 3, 2015.
The second one was purchased on December 10,2015 and the Reference Number is : INT151210-4287-60431S and it was through FastSpring.
You have already cancelled your Bronze Monthly Subscription and this is the reason why your account is scheduled to downgrade.
Your active subscription is the Silver one which is charging you $39 per month.
You ask to have active the Bronze subscription active, however, it's not possible, since you already have cancelled it.
We can cancel the Silver subscription and you should wait your account to be downgraded.
Would you like to cancel the Silver subscription ?
Once the Silver subscription is cancelled your account will be on free and you will be able to purchase a new subscription.
Please, do let us know how would you like to proceed here, since the Bronze subscription though PayPal can not be re-activated.

Why would I purchase two subscriptions? I was simply upgrading to receive more submissions. Please refund the $19 Bronze for December.

I canceled and refunded the Bronze subscription on Paypal, the only active subscription for your account will be the Silver, Order: INT151210-4287-92422
