When a customer fills out a form, we have the Auto Email responder set up to send them back a confirmation email with the details of their registration. Problem, the odd time, the customer incorrectly types in their email address, consequently they do not get the email response with the necessary registration information. Is there a way in the form to make them type their email address out twice so that we know we have a good email address.

No, unfortunately, there is no such email verification feature. You can ask the user to type the email address twice, but they will not be compared to each other.
