Hey hope all is well
form i am working with: https://form.jotform.com/60315059470148
Just had a quick question
I have a link so that you can edit your submission after you submit the form just in case user made a mistake
Now it works fine but the issue I am having is two things
1.) after the user resubmits after the edit, I have somewhat of a counter that counts when thew user submitted the form, it gets incremented from 0, so first user gets 1, second user to submit gets 2 and so on and so on
But when the user edits their form and resubmits i would like their submit number to remain the show and be displayed on the thank you page but that is not the case once they resubmit ( note it works perfectly when they do not edit/resubmit ) , its just empty and gets hidden, anyway to get around this and have it be displayed after the same number before the submission, edit the source code or something ?
picture below demonstrates
2.) Second problem I am having is the same kind with the editing after you submit
I am using the ticket purchases widget that allows users to select a class option
Now when you are using the edit after you submit, it does not tell you when class option you selected once it gets filled
example, when you first started filling the form, there was 5 spots remaining but once you try to go back and edit your form, they are all sold out, not this becomes problematic because user will not know if they are still in the class or not
Not if they try to proceed through the form, it lets them successfully finish regardless if it is all sold out, and but there is not identification until after. Is there a way to show them which class they are in regardless if it is sold out, like go in and edit the source of the widget or something
Below is a picture where the user was signed up for beginner class and it ended up getting sold out before they could edit the form, I just need something to show them that they are still signed up for that class regardless,
btw it still lets them select other classes, and still select that sold out class they were originally signed up for which is perfect, there just needs to be an identifier for the sold out class, hope that makes sense
Please help if you can thank you very much

I am not sure if I have understood your requirement correctly. Do you mean to say that when you edit your submission, you want the counter of the "Ticket Purchases" widgets to be reset for that particular submission.
1. User submits the form by selection a slot. After submission the available slot is 19 (before it was 20)
2. When the user come back to submit the form, you want to display 20 available slots again instead of 19?
I do not think it is possible. The way ticket purchases widget works is that it always checks how many submissions are received and display the counter accordingly. It is currently not possible to reset the counters when submission is edited.
Please confirm your requirement if this is what you want to achieve and we will send a feature request to our backend team.
We will wait for your response.

Thanks for the response
You did not understand correctly, you kind of got the situations confused, this is a two part question
The first scenario ( refer back to the top to see pictures )
1.) I use the widget "unique id " as somewhat of a counter to give each user a number, in order of which they submitted the form, 1 2 3 4 .. and so on,
it works perfectly when submitting the form, but if the user comes and edits there form, it does not allow them too see their original unique id
example if user submitted the form and they got a "submission number : 4" ( unique id )
If they edit the form and resubmit, I want it to tell them their original submission number ( unique id )
instead right now it just gives them a blank id and shows nothing, but if another user comes in and submits a form it still auto increments, so I just want it to display their submission number once they edit the form
Now the second scenario ( refer back to the top to see pictures )
this issue also occurs during an editing process
2.) The situation you are referring to about the widget "ticket purchases" already occurs, it will switch between 20 and 19 if a user submits and edits
The situation I am referring too is if a user signed up for a class that had 1 spot left and they took the last spot, and now the class is sold out in a sense. If the user tries to edit their submission the class is sold out and does not show the user they are signed up for it, so it makes it seem as though they can not register for that class, so i just need some css code, maybe something like a color added to indicate which class they are in once they edit the submission since they can still register for it
Hope this makes sense thanks

I tested and could replicate the same situation. When editing a form submission, the thank you page does not display the Unique ID.
I have forwarded this situation to our developers so they can analyse it further. We'll contact you as soon as we have more details.
I moved your second question to a new thread. You can find it here:
Let us know if we can assist you further.

Thanks so much for the response and assistance
On average how long does it usually take for the developers to get back ?

You're welcome. This may become a trending so I'm sure our developers will be checking this. We'll let you know here.

I have recently made some updates on the edit mode which appears to have fixed this issue. If the problem persist, please do let us know.
