Is this link that is being generated constantly updated with new submissions? Or is it only capturing current submissions before the final step of the wizard report?

not true! mine will not update! why?

Quick question on this topic. Does the excel sheet update automatically with new submissions or do I need to download it again each time?

When you create an excel report, you will be given with a report URL. Clicking on this URL will download all the current submissions to your local system. This excel is not dynamic and will update itself with the new submissions as it is downloaded in your local system.

There are other reports type which you can generate and they will update automatically as soon as new submissions are received in your form. Take a look at the following reports:
