How do I lengthen the box in date and time boxes so year and AM/PM shows

My form has the date boxes (3 with month day and year).  The year does not show up.  The Time box has AM/PM choices and they only partially show up.  How do I lengthen the boxes to allow the full display?

I have tried the designer etc with no luck
