Passing form fields (and sub-fields) from one form to an other

Love that demo of passing form fields (and sub-fields) from one form to an other.

    Here's the trick question :

The given example has NO time delay between the two forms, and the idea could actually link more forms in the same fashion, could a user return to a form previously submitted to continue a process with a second (third, ...) "linked" form ?

    Here's the situation I have :

Someone pre-registers using a form which collects enough data for that stage of registration along with, say, a deposit done through PayPal.  The submit button must be used.  At some later date the person uses a second form to commit to the registration, and pay the (balance) of registration fee. How can the forms be linked so the individual does not have to re enter some of the information of the first form and I end up with "all" data in the second (last) form in the chain ?

The long way about would probably for me to gather the data from the first form into a database & then feed the needed bits of data, as per format of your demo/test page to the second form. I was trying to avoid having to do this, if possible.  If it can't be avoided, then I would want each form be formatted entry screens feeding the database "directly" - submit button becoming a "commit data" button as well.

Crossing my fingers Jotform can make it simpler ...

In this case, you might consider adding a special link to prepopulate the second (payment) form to the form Email Autoresponder.

    Creating a Form Autoresponder

Here is a link to the thread about prepopulation link construction:

How do I prepopulate fields in one form with text input from another form?

So, you can basically add the prepopulation link to the form Thank You page and/or Email Autoresponder of the first form.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

I would like to add that the form user will be able to use the prepopulation link from received Autoresponder email to access the second form at any time.

Thank you for the quick replies.

I'll see how I can use this particular approach for the more immediate need.  It could change the work flow explained to our target audience in our respective web page ...

The possibilities seem endless with JotForm.  One just has to venture, experiment or ask to get a solution, if not several.
