    How can I add QR code generated via Dynamic QR Code widget to Autoresponder Email?

    Greetings! I have searched around, and found no solution to adding the Dynamic QR Code, which appears on the form, to the Autorespond email.

     

    The solutions previously given do not work, the "label" is shown instead of the QR Code.

     

    Can someone post a step by step guide to this?

     

    Will be enormously grateful.

    I cannot replicate this with my own form. Please try re-adding the widget. I think that will work.

    We tried using your form, and the QR code does not display at all on the email auto responder.

    We are using :

    Chrome (Updated)

    Gmail - Browser interface

    All images displayed

    I did few tests and didn't encounter any issue. Could you try to re-embed your Dynamic QR code and put the field that you want to create QR code from in Field label:

    Check your field label and delete your Autoresponder and add again, that should solve the problem according to my tests.

    Please let me know if that helped.

    Thank you for your reply.
    We have ensured the label is always filled.
    We have tried deleting the entire form and recreating from scratch, twice.
    Problem persists. We would not ask for help if we have not tried everything
    we could.

    I cloned and tested your form and I received the QR code in the email. Please try using the alternative email address for testing and let us know if the issue persists.

    It could happen that the email provider you are using is blocking the loading of images from our CDN.

    We'll wait for your response.

    Thank you for your reply.

    We are testing on Google Chrome Browser web client, Gmail.

    If Google is blocking the QR code widget, well it is practically unusable for us.

    I guess we have to look for alternatives to Jotform.

     

    Do note that even the "thank you" screen will not show the Dynamic QR code.

    The Dynamic QR code shows when the form is filled.

    That is the only instance it will show.

    It will not show on Thank you screen after we configured it.

    It will not show on autoresponder after we configured it. 

    Our guess is that Jotform is unable to save the QR code after rendering it on the form.

     

    If the folks working on the widget will fix it, we will continue to try.

    If not, please let us know so we can stop wasting everyone's time.

    I am using gmail, and using the browser web client.
    I do receive Jotform's advertising images though.
    So is there a problem with google and the Dynamic QR code widget?

    We just tested on another computer, using Internet Explorer, hotmail account. 

    The QR code still shows up as "QR Code".

    *note the label field has always been updated correctly, as the QR Code image shows on the form ALWAYS.

    Since you mentioned that everything is working on your side.

    Can you create a form with working Dynamic QR code in Autoresponder so we can see what went wrong?

    Thank you Christian.

    I have isolated the problem :

    Dynamic QR Code widget is unable to save data from multiple field, the example being "Address" where we have "Street Address", "Street Address line 2" and "Postal Code".

    Note : The widget CAN render the Qr code on the form as it is being filled, it is just unable to save and export to the Autoresponder email, nor the Thank you page.  

    For single fields, the widget works.

    This is why the support team is unable to replicate the problem, you guys have been trying with single fields.

     

    Will this be fixed?

    I tested the form you mention  and the Dynamic QR widget was working:

    Is this form published on a website? If so please let us know the url so we can perform further tests.

    Regarding the multiple fields question, you can try adding a Form calculation field, that will collect the Address field information. Then you can add the calculation field to the Dynamic QR Code:

    Like this the QR code image is displayed in the auto-responders:

    Thank you for your reply, Carina.

    Unfortunately, the Autoresponder from the form you linked stopped working as well.

    I do not receive any QR codes, only the words "QR Code".

     

    Please advise.

     

    Please note the following :

     

    1) The widget do work for me once in a while, I do receive the QR code in autoresponder a few times, and then it stops working.

     

    2) I am using your form. 

     

    3) I am using Google gmail, Google Chrome (latest update) browser web client, I receive all Jotform images, adverts or otherwise.

     

    4) My colleague tried w IE, and hotmail. Does not work as well.

     

    5) I repeat : We receive all other images fine.

     

    6) The QR code do appear on the form itself. Just not on emails.

     

    *note Signatures widget works fine, on all occasions.

    Thank you for the detailed information. Unfortunately I cannot replicate the same situation, as for me the QR code is still displayed in the auto-responder:

    No worries, we are trying another workaround that seems to be working.
    We think we have isolated the issue, it is the widget.
    A few more tests, and we can very accurately conclude where the bug is.

    Hi Clifford,

     

    I checked your form - http://www.jotform.me/form/60992734460461 and did a test submission on your form and I was able to replicate the issue you are reporting.

     

    I cloned your form and even on my cloned form the issue persists - https://form.jotform.com/60994083638972?. However, when I try to delete existing Autoresponder and add a new Autoresponder email the issue was fixed. I was able to see the QR Code.

    We have isolated the issue to the widget, not the autoresponder.

    As long as the data has been used to create a dynamic QR code before, the QR code cannot be saved and exported a second time.

    Therefore, the Dynamic QR code can only be used on a field that yield absolutely only unique inputs.

    This is why during test phase, while you can get the QR codes, I can not get them on my end.

    While the QR code appears on the form, it will never be saved and exported into the email a second time.

    So when you used my example, and cloned it, you could replicate the problem.

    If you have done the tests repeatedly using same data, you will be able to replicate the problem using the widget.

    We are look at working on Google docs as a workaround.

    I actually took sometimes to test the issue the way you explained it above, it seems that if you fill the form and click the back browser button to submit the same entries, the QR code will not send a second time.

    But if you fill the form with the same entries by entering them again or even click the back button after submit, and modify only one field by hand, the QR code will send to Autoresponder each time.

    I used a clone of your form: LKH Mystery Gift AC, created a new Autoresponder and added a Unique ID Widget to track each submissions - Note that the same Address is used to generate the QR code. Submit the form with the same Address each time get the QR code.

    This has been fixed - your QR code should appear in all your notification emails.
