Combined Costs for using Sender Address is Too ExpensiveAsked by horren on April 12, 2016 at 11:48 AM
I wouldn't mind paying a little fee per month for their service, but the cost is crazy. You will need:
- Mailchimp account ($10/month)
- Mandrill email block ($20/month)
- Dedicated IP address ($30/month)
So... in order to use the email field of the form as the sender address, the cost will be $60. :-(
This is a re-post of a comment on Set Email Field as the Sender Email Address for Notification Email with Mandrill
Horren, we understand that you are interested in possibly becoming a subscriber but are unsure of doing so since you feel that you would have to pay crazy amounts just to get everything to work as you need.
To clarify this concern of yours for you better I would like to point out that we have no control over any extra costs incurred by third-party services. Each has it's own limited options for any free plans that might be offered.
There may be other free compatible services with options that would work for the custom sender address for such but most likely their options may be limited as well. Also, you can avoid these costs if you just set your sender address to our default noreply address.
I was under the impression that I posted a reply to the discussion about using Mandrill in order to set the email field als the sender's email address:
For some reason it was posted as a new topic (I probably did something wrong). Anyway, please see my previous post as a comment on using Mandrill as a paid solution.
No problem we understand that. My colleague provided you the above clarification simply to inform you that those services' price do not depend on JotForm and give you some alternative.
Also thank you for the comment!
I'm sorry, I just tried it again and it seems like only Mandrill SMTP can activate the From Email feature. I will send a request about it to our developers, but will do it in a new thread. Please check it here: https://www.jotform.com/answers/817832.
Thank you for clarifying. I hope there will be solution soon.
