Is it possible to create a sign-up form which is dynamically updated by each person who registers?

What I mean is, say I have a sign-up form for a dinner to which people are asked to bring items.  If I have a list of say 10 items and person A signs up to bring item #1, that item would no longer be available for anyone else to bring? 

Not sure if I'm being clear, but hope this makes some sense.

I understand that you are looking for a form that disables the item which is already submitted by another user. I think the Gift Registry widget can help you in achieving your requirement.
