Please help with this, many of us need this funcionality,

Maybe your random numbers + fields

    example: 314635413654165_Field1_field2.PDF

will be a really good help to avoid confusion between sender and file

    Thank you!

    Hi Kevin,

In my opinion, this is the most frustrating part of the JotForm and needs to the addressed ASAP.

For me, I don't even need the PDF to be customization,  I just need your developer to simply raise their finger, and change the PDF Name from [Submission ID] to [Form Name][Submission ID].

I mean, if you are a developer, wouldn't this make more sense to string together name of the form and Submission ID together, rather than just submission ID?

There have been multiple threads already requesting this feature going back to 2013, if you guys cannot make it customization, at least change the default string to [Form Name][Submission ID].

I am not a Web Developer, but I would think changing the file name to [Form Name][Submission ID] will be as easy as lifting a finger and spend 15 minutes to correct a horrible design flaw!

    Hi stevenrc12.

I do understand your point of view, as my colleagues, however while it might seems as simple, this is not so.

The JotForm system is a connection of several different systems together working to bring you all of the features available. Further more they are based on various servers and some use outside services like Amazon for storing uploaded files, etc.

This means that sometimes even a change might seem simple, it requires a lot of different developers to take action, make tests and see if and what needs to be changed to make sure that this part works, but no other parts get damaged / corrupted due to the same.

There is also a business decision as to which features will be available and which would not and as such we can guide you to help you with your issues or questions and raise when and where needed.

It is then up to our developers to do the proper checks and changes in the back, if that is decided as something that should be done.

Next to the above, features will always fall after bugs, since any bugs in the system need to be resolved prior to the introduction to some new features.

As such we can not give you any ETA on this, but will be happy to notify anyone as soon as we get back from our developers on the same feature request.

If you do have any other comments or questions, I would like to ask you to open your own thread instead of posting on other peoples threads, in order to allow them to have their requests resolved. This is the link where you can open your own thread: https://www.jotform.com/contact/

    Thank you.

I am really agree with kevin, I found this solution with other tool and I am thinking on change and left Jotform back as this was never resolved (yes since 2013) is impossible to keep getting this random numbers instead a custom name of the PDF files, Jot forms suppose to be custom, and the name of the attachments must be the most important part, I am really planing to move to another tool to have this feature enabled..

    @poolmanagementgroup

We apologize for this, but we have not received updates regarding this feature yet, please do note that features are considered based on the number of users requesting the same, for example, if there are a lot of users requesting the same feature, our higher ups may consider implementing this feature.

We can not provide an ETA about when it can be developed or if this may be available, but we will make sure to let you know if this is available.
