    Information for public safety agency

    A co worker has requested to use your service & i need to vet the services out prior to purchase. We currently do not have an existing "application" online & are working to develop one...in the interim we need to have one. I wanted to speak to a person but it seems like that is not available via this service

    Good Morning,
    I am in need of more general information, a user has expressed interest in your service but I need to have more information besides you create forms.
    1. Your subscriptions give unlimited form making but you charge per forms submitted?
    2. What is the cost if your submissions go above your monthly allotment?
    3. Are your forms hosted on your server for our external customers, if so will we have a dedicated design concept & control?
    4. How do people find our forms?
    5. Can we create invoices?
    6. We are a government entity and cannot pay monthly – do you have annual subscriptions & do they have discounts?
    7. Do you integrate with other databases like FileMaker Pro?

    8. Outside of the API’s listed on your site do you have the ability to integrate to others?

    9. What is the cost for the online payment processing?
    10. Does that depend on the vendor? What if we don’t use any of those vendors?

    11. What is your database in the background?
    12. Is all your tech support via email or chat?

    We usually advise our users to open each question in separate threads. But in your case, to avoid confusion, I have answered most of them here and separate the others. You can check them at the bottom.

     

    1. Your subscriptions give unlimited form making but you charge per forms submitted?

    The limit is the number of submissions or responses your whole account can receive per month. Please check our pricing page for more information. We also have free and paid plans, you can check the limits of each account type in the pricing page.

    Example:

    If you are in "Free" plan, you are allowed to receive 100 regular submissions, 10 payment submissions and 1,000 form views, all of these are per month, the monthly limit resets every 1st day of the month. You are also allowed to create 1 sub user and 100 MB of upload space, these things do NOT reset, they are fixed to your account. If you reached any of the account limits, all of your forms will temporarily be disabled.

    To continue using them, you can upgrade to a higher subscription plan. If you do not wish to upgrade you  can also wait for the submission and form view counter to reset which happens every 1st day of the month. The upload space does not reset but you can free up your space by deleting submissions with file uploads on them. Please do note that deleting submission data with file uploads on them is irreversible.

     

    2. What is the cost if your submissions go above your monthly allotment?

    Please refer to the answer in question #1, if you reached or exceeded your account limits, all of your forms will temporarily be disabled. 

     

    3. Are your forms hosted on your server for our external customers, if so will we have a dedicated design concept & control?

    Yes, the forms are hosted in our servers. We use Amazon Web Services and Incero in our data centers. These data centers are located in two continents, 2 in USA and 1 in Germany. I am not quite sure about the design concept & control, I believe this is more of a security concern and we might not be able to provide these information.

     

    4. How do people find our forms?

    You can share forms using the direct link of it or you can embed them in your website or a platform that accepts scripts and other embed codes. You can these things if you click the "Publish" wizard. The forms can be used in any device as long as they are viewed on a web browser and has an active internet connection.

     

    5. Can we create invoices?

    I am not quite sure what you meant here. If you purchased a subscription on us, invoices can easily be accessed in your account's billing section. Here's a guide on how to check your invoices: https://www.jotform.com/help/329-How-to-Check-Invoices 

     

    6. We are a government entity and cannot pay monthly – do you have annual subscriptions & do they have discounts?

    Yes, you can subscribed to either monthly, yearly or bi-yearly subscription plans. And yes, compared to the monthly plan, you'll get a few discounts if you purchased the yearly or bi-yearly plan.     11. What is your database in the background?

    I am not quite sure about this as this involves our devops and developers. If you are worried about the security, here are the information shared by our founder:

    - We have bug bounty programs where we pay outside parties for

    reporting vulnerabilities in our system.

    - Our servers are protected by private networks and constantly updated

    and patched.

    - Our system administrators have a collective 40+ years of industry experience.

    - Our development team is encouraged to follow best security practices.

    - All data transfer are made of 256-bit SSL secure connection.

    - Our servers are located on SSAE16 Audited facilities.

     

    12. Is all your tech support via email or chat?

    Yes, currently, the best way to contact us is here in the forum and via email at support@jotform.com. Our support team is online 24/7 and you should receive replies within 24 hours. There are also times that the chat system opens.

It would also be best to sign up an account and test the form builder itself, the best way to see if the product fits your need is to use the actual features. No need to worry, you can sign up for a "Free" account, ALL features are accessible regardless if you are in free or paid plans. The only difference are the limits mentioned in the pricing page.
