My text boxes are not being assigned form fields under the email notifications page.  I need these text boxes to show up in emails but I can't do this unless they are assigned a form field...please help.

By default all the fields that are not filled, will not be send in the notification. If you wish to have all the fields to be send in the notification, you can modify it from the preference settings.

Under the ADVANCE tab, you can disable the option HIDE EMPTY FIELDS ON EMAILS.

Please let us know if this helps.

My advance tab looks like this and doesn't have that option.

Just to confirm, you would like empty form fields to SHOW UP on your email notifications, is that correct?

Our developers are implementing a new interface for the "Preferences", however, it is not yet fully implemented to all users. To access the "Hide Empty Fields on Email" option, you need to append ?&old in your current link.

Example: try logging in to www.jotform.com/?&old. You will then have the option to see the old preferences, including the option "Hide Empty Fields on Emails".

Let us know if we misunderstood your concern.

I just tried the new link the the text fields are still not assigned Form Fields in the email notification section.  I have pre-populated text that is conditionally formatted to show up when certain answers are chosen.  It is the pre-populated text that is not being assigned a Form Field.

I'm sorry, but I'm having a hard time understanding the exact concern you have.

Could you please provide us a concrete example, images or screenshot would greatly help.

Are you referring to these "Text" fields:

Please note that static elements like text and images won't be displayed in your email notification automatically because they do not hold any input from your users. That is why they won't show up on your "Form Fields" drop down list.

If you want those text to be added in your email body, then you can manually enter or type them there.

I am not sure if those are the prepopulated text that you are referring to. Please do provide us more information that we can use to better assist you.

Yes, those are the exact texts which I would like included in the email notification.  How do I manually enter them into the email form field?  We are getting close!

You simply need to copy and paste them into your email notification. Note that you can configure the email anyway you want or even remove all the form input.

But I need these to populate based on the conditional formatting (i.e. different text boxes are appropriate only for certain responses to questions answered.  Simply copying the text into the email won't work for what I need to do.  Is there another way...seems like the text boxes should get treated like the other form fields...frustrating:(

Unfortunately this is not the case, the Text field is not like the other fields. Only fields that take user input can be modified using conditions.

This has got to change!  It seems such an easy implementation, and it provides the ability to provide such focused direction.  This is huge resourcefulness in the form that you have effectively neutered.
