    Stripe: Encountered error that say that you were supposed to fill in a number and not letters in the month field

    Hi 


    A few times now we have recieved feedback from our customers regarding a possible error in Jotform. 

    When they add their creditcardinformation to pay, and get to the field for expiry date month, the options are listed as January, February, March etc.. 

    But when they select the correct month and click pay, the error message say that you were supposed to fill in a number and not letters in the month field. 

    Obviously, it is not possible to select numbers in stead of letters in this field, as the options are already listed as letters. 

    We have integrated Jotform with Stripe, and we think that might be the reason why some customers recieve and error message. 

    Is there any way to change the options for the months from January to 01 etc?

    Unfortunately, there is no current setting that can change the Month Dropdown values to numeric in stripe integration. I cloned your form and test it on my end but I was not able to replicate the issue. Can you try and test again on your end and see if you will still encounter the issue? If the issue still persists, can you try to reintegrate your stripe field (delete and add the stripe payment again) and see if this will fix the issue?

    Hi.

    When you say that you are not able to replicate the issue, do you refer to that you do not get any error message, or that you get a dropdown list showing months in numbers, rather than as written (January, February, etc).

    For our part, it mostly works, but it errors out on certain phones.  That is why we would like to list 1,2,3,4... rather than January, February, March ... .  We think this is causing the error.

    Were you able to create a list in the Stripe integration showing the list 1,2,3,4... for the Exp.Month?

    Unfortunately it is currently not possible to make the month in the expiration date field of the Stripe Integration a number.

     

    When you say that you are not able to replicate the issue, do you refer to that you do not get any error message, or that you get a dropdown list showing months in numbers, rather than as written (January, February, etc).

    I meant I did not encounter an error message saying I was supposed to enter number in the month field. I also tested a clone of your form on a phone and a phone simulator but there was no error.

     

     

    Was there a specific device where you encountered the error?

    I think the customer that could not pay because of this error was using an Iphone. But when I testet it on my iphone with his card the payment was successfull.

    Will get back to you if it happens again on a different device.

    We will try to get specific data regarding the phone and modell for the customers which have this problem.  Just like you, we have not been able to replicate the problem, but since we have had several customers reporting the same problem, we have to address it.

    I tested it again the cloned form on an iPhone 6s emulator but still I was not able to replicate the issue.
