How to confirm submission email address in response notification?

Asked by ExcelAccounts on May 26, 2016 at 01:33 AM

    Hello

I need a way to confirm the responder's identity for forms - ie. their name and/or email address to be shown as part of submission notification.  Is this possible?

    Thanks so much!

Yes, this is indeed possible. Simply add a Full Name field and an Email address field in your form, and the user will be able to fill in their data and submit the form.

Once these fields are added to the form and the user filled in their data, if the form is submitted the user's name and email address will be seen in the email notification.

For more information on the email notification, please check out this guide: Setting Up Email Notifications

    Hi Chriistian!

Thanks so much for your response!

The problem is that anyone could record any name/email address and hit Submit.  Is there a way to prove, that the response came from a form emailed to a specific recipient?

    I hope that makes sense?

    Thanks again, very much.

Thank you for the clarification. I believe your requirement can be achieved by integrating the form with Facebook to collect the user's profile information without the user having to enter their data. Here's a guide on how you can set it up: How to integrate your form to Facebook to collect profile information (Fit Forms)

You can check out this demo form to see it in action: http://www.jotformpro.com/form/41494654085966

Thanks again Chriistian but I don't really use Facebook, and not sure that all of clients do either.  Is there no way to send a form to an email address, and have the response proven, as coming from that same email address?

    Thanks.

If I understand your concern correctly, you want to ensure that the one submitting your form is the owner of the email inputted? You can try to use the email validator widget: https://widgets.jotform.com/widget/e-mail_validator. This widget makes sure that a valid email is used on your form through a pass-code verification process.
