I've added mailchimp integration - I was expecting the the option to add a box the user would be able to tick to 'subscribe to our maillist' -

Do people get added automatically then after a submission? I thought we should require their permission first? This is not too clear for me on your article!

    Thanks

    Hi ttrs,

It seems a similar scenario was discussed and answered just a while ago. This could help clarify your inquiry. Here is the link.

Hope this help. Should you need further assistance, please post back.

    Thanks.

OK so this is really for a jotform that says 'subscribe to our newsletter' as there is no indication to the user they are signing up until they submit a form and they receive an email?

When importing a list from JotForm to MailChimp, your mailing list is treated as new entries to MailChimp, that's why MailChimp sends an email to all the addresses in the newly imported list for them to confirm their subscription.

In a MailChimp integrated form:  After a user submits the form, he is automatically added to the list.  He will also receive an email notification coming from MailChimp informing him that he is added to this certain mailing list.

A confirmed subscriber to your mailing list is also given an unsubscribe link in the confirmation email if in case he decides to not receive notifications from you.

Please let us know if you need further clarification on this matter.

    Thanks.

I think what ttrs was asking (and this is my question also) is this:

Let's say I set up a "Contact Us" form that has basic contact information and a text field for comments. But I also add a checkbox that says "Add me to your mailing list" because I want to be able to capture interested listees that way if they check the box.

So you see, I only want to add people to my MailChimp list IF they check the box. If they do NOT check the box, I don't want them added to the list.

There currently seems to be no way to do this, either through the MailChimp integration or using the Conditions options available for the form.

    Hello PurseN,

    Thank you for clarifying this.

Currently, there is no feature yet available for this.  But I will forward this to the development team and request this to be added to the feature request list.  Unfortunately, I cannot give you guys a timeframe to when this feature can be implemented.  As you can see, our developers are extremely busy with putting up upgrades.  But rest assured, once this is added, we'll let you know.

    Thanks for your support

This is actually a requirement of Mailchimp, that the user must opt-in to recieving the newsletter via a check box.

We have already created a feature request ticket. It has been assigned to one of our Developers.

In the meantime, please check the following solution from similar thread.

It is possible to make required agreement check box with us.

Moreover, it is possible to use conditional logic on forms to hide form Submit button if agreement check box is not checked.

Please take a look at the following example:
