I have been trying to contact support to solve the issue, because my export has been stuck for days now at 44%. I need a solution ASAP please, the only reply I received was along the lines of "wait and see what happens" which is incredibly unhelpful, considering that it is the only reply I received to all my messages

I checked your account and I was able to see the Download Data process that was started last June 21, 2016.
The large number of attachments might be the cause of the issue. I will have to escalate the issue to our development team for them to further investigate this. Since your upload space is almost full, as a workaround, please try to backup/download some of the data and uploads of your form's submissions manually from the submission page. Once you have the backup data, delete some submissions to free up some upload space.
