My company has just setup our first JotForm, and are very pleased with everything! We just had one question about the pricing plans. Currently, we do not anticipate a large number of submissions coming through per month, but may see this volume rise in the upcoming months. With that, we were just wondering how the upgrade process works, if JotForm will just automatically upgrade our account from the free version to the $19/mo. version, or if the forms will just stop working if we hit our maximum submissions before manually upgrading ourselves?

The upgrade process is done manually, so you will have to do it. If your account reaches the limit, it will be disabled until the limit is reset (which happens every 1st of the month) or until you do the upgrade.
