Condition to change thank you message not triggered if the form is encrypted.Asked by BenediktSahlmueller on August 09, 2016 at 11:39 AM
Hello jotform support team!
First things first: Your tool does a lot more than I would expect from a free - or not expansive - tool. thanks for your great work!
I have a problem with a condition:
My ansers are rated: Numbers 10 or 0. in the end I have a calculation widget (not schown), which lets me decide what kind of success message there is to be shown after submit.
So, if "ergebnis" is > 20 there should be a message
The problem: in all my tests sofar, only the <20 message shows up.
Do you have any idea what Im doing wrong?
I did test your form and I am able to replicate the issue you are having. You seems to have added conditions correctly to change the thank you message based on the value of "Ergebnis".
The issue seems to be related to "Form Encryption" you have enabled in your form. Since the condition to change the thank you message is triggered after the form is submitted and you have form encryption enabled, the data of "Form Calculation" widget is also encrypted. This causes the condition to fail and default thank you message is displayed.
I am not sure if this is a bug but I am reporting it to our back end team. We will get back to you as soon as we have any update from them.
For now, I would suggest you to please disable "Form Encryption" in your form and that should solve your problem.
Hello ashwin, thanks for the fast reply. Ill give it a try and report back to you if anything goes wrong. Im quite shure you found it - thanks!
Thanks for your response, BenediktSahlmueller.
We'll be on standby should you have questions.
Warm regards :)
Wonderful message and wonderful answers also. The content is also very useful to us. More sources are possible here.
A small update on my form: everything seems working finde now - thanks to your support!
Howerver, there are still some questions regarding privacy:First: Can you tell me when there will be a way of sending the data encrypted to your servers here in Europe? Or is the data transfer always encrypted by default?Second: Is there a setting to shorten Ip-Adresses - or to get rid of them? Your Analytics-Dashboard is great, dont get me wrong here, but we are not allowed to save IP-adresses if they are not needed for billing or such.
Looking forward hearing from you
