Skip to a Page Condition: Ability to automatically skip to a page when a condition is fulfilled without clicking Next/Continue button.

    Hello there JotForm Team!

I have an elaborate application form with lots of pages. There are some pre-screening questions, and I would like to be able to have the form automatically jump to a page based on the reply.

I have turned on the auto-skip feature for the page breaks in question -- and I have also set up conditions that dictate where to go based on a reply. However, the conditions only work when I have auto-skip turned off.

When auto-skip is on, a question that should direct the form user to a page several pages away instead goes to the very next page.

For example, one of the eligibility questions asks about an applicant's farming experience. There are three options (radio buttons):

-- 5+ years of independent experience

-- Some experience working on a farm

    -- No experience

If answers one or two are selected, I would like the page to automatically jump to the very next page (which is the next eligibility screening question). However, if option three is selected, I would like it jump to a page several pages away that informs the user he or she is ineligible.

If I turn off auto-skip, then the conditional logic works and the "Continue" button correctly directs the user to the correct page. But with auto-skip turned on, even when a user selects option 3, it still goes to the second eligibility screening question.

What am I doing wrong here? Is there a way to make auto-skip be able to jump to non-contiguous pages?

Here is my form: https://form.jotform.com/62186965418164 ("Savings Incentive Program Application").

Thanks so much for your help!

May we know what do you refer with "Auto-Page-Skip"?

I have checked your form and I can see you have there the conditions that skip to certain pages, here is what I can see and they're currently working:

Skip to a Page Condition: Ability to automatically skip to a page when a condition is fulfilled without clicking Next/Continue button Screenshot 30

I've tried to find the feature "Auto-Page-Skip", but as I far as I know you can skip pages with conditions only.

Could you please provide us more details about the other feature (Auto-Page-Skip)?

We will check the form and find the conflict between the feature and the conditions.

Please let us know, we will be glad to help you.

    Hi Kevin,

When you're in the form editor, click on "Edit Properties," then the "Advanced" tab. Here's a screenshot.

    Hope that helps!

I don't think this is possible with Auto-skip option. If you need to skip the form to a different page using conditions, the Auto-skip option needs to be turned off for the page break. As it is already mentioned at the option, the auto-skip option will navigate the form to the next page only and supports only with Radio buttons and dropdowns.

I believe that this option is intended to give the users a better experience for the forms like quick survey forms.

Hope this information helps! If you have any other questions in this regard, please let us know. We will be happy to assist.

    Hi Kiran,

Thank you for double-checking whether auto-jump to a non-contiguous page is possible. Looks like I'll just have to stay with page conditions and users will have to click "continue."

Perhaps the ability to do an auto-jump to a defined page (rather than limiting the feature to only the next page) is a feature you could ask the JotForm team to consider adding in the future?

It seems like the feature could be set up similar to a condition, where you just ask the user to define which page they want the form to automatically jump to.

If there is a place where I should make this request myself, please let me know -- I would be happy to do so!

    Best,

    tamsyn

I would be happy to forward your request to our backend team. However, it seems that there is some wiggle room here or I may not have understood your requirement correctly. In your case, it is required to skip to a specific page only when a particular option is selected. If we have the option to auto-skip to a specific page, it will be navigating to that page irrespective of the option selected.

If we need to navigate to the next page in any case, it is required to setup conditions again. Please correct me if I didn't get to your point. Please provide us with more information or may be an example so that we can forward the request to our backend team.

    Thank you!

    Hi Kiran,

It's not a huge issue ... The conditional logic with manual clicking of the "Continue" button works. What I was wondering, however, was whether I could enable the "auto-next" feature of the page break and have it "auto-advance" to any page I dictated, without the user having to manually click "Continue."

There's a difference between the conditional logic with manual clicking and the ability for the auto-advance to move to any page on the form I designate based on the user's response.

At any rate, it's not a big deal -- the conditional logic works just fine, but perhaps a feature to consider in the future.

    Thanks for your reply!

Thank you for the additional information. I understand that you would like to have the ability to use the the auto-next feature in conjunction with the skip to page condition. So that when you add a condition to skip to a certain page, the form will automatically skip to that page when the condition is met and the fields in that page are all filled.

Just as an example to see if I got it right, your form has a Page 2 with three options (radio buttons):

    - 5+ years of independent experience

    - Some experience working on a farm

    - No experience

You have a condition that if option one or two is selected, you move to the next page (Page 3). But if option three is selected (No experience), the form would skip to Page 6.

For now, the user will have to click the continue/next button to skip to Page 6. But you would like to have the feature that if the condition is fulfilled (option three is selected) and all the fields on page 3 are filled, the form will automatically skip to Page 6 without the user having to click on continue/next.

I have raised your request to our developers. We cannot inform you if or when this feature will be implemented, but we have any news on your request, we shall let you know on this thread.

    Regards.
