email attachment PDF not received

we have recently had some submissions not come through by email, however we are certain this is due to the file sizes of the attached PDFs.  As part of the submission, people can upload photos however some may have high quality image setting on their device, resulting in large file sizes.  We have 3 upload fields, for Before, During and After the particular event.  We know that you can limit the number of file sizes or individual file size limits but I have a few questions:

    1. Is there a limit to the size of the PDF with the embedded images?  One recent submission had 6 photos totalling over 8mb in file size.  I'm not surprised they didn't land in the inbox but I don't know whether in this instance Jotform didn't send the email or our Hosting Provider is blocking it (they say they have  20MB limit on emails).

    2. Is it possible to have an OVERALL file size limit/counter for attachments?  This would be a very useful feature.

    3. Can Jotform not conditionally send just an email (ie without attached PDF) if the PDF may be over a certain size?  It would of course be better to have AN email notification, rather than NONE.  Ie, at the bottom of the email: the PDF was not attached due to the large file size - click here to download.

    4. Can images in PDFs not be automatically/optionally scaled down in terms of file size (ie medium sized thumbnails)?  There is a link to the full size anyway which is great, but there seems little point having the images scaled down to fit the PDF but retaining the original file size.

To be clear, I'm not talking about have uploaded images attached to the email, the issue is with the PDF.  We need images embedded but ideally limit the overall size of uploads (and thus the PDF), or alternatively send notification email with attachment if too large.  And we really don't want to have to manually download submissions.

I certainly haven't seen anything on Jotform that would accomplish any of this.

You can upload up to 1 GB per submission and this number can be split into 25 files. So seems like the problem is at your hosting provider side.

This is a good suggestion, please open a separate thread only with this question so we can make the ticket and escalate it.

This feature was added due to lots of request from our users, so what you are requesting is the other way around, which is not possible.

This is the same request as above, so please open the thread and we will gladly open the feature request for it.
