does a new delayed autoresponder apply to old submissions?

if I add a new 7 day autoresponder email, does it apply to subscribers that have already signed up within 1-6 days. Or does it only apply to new subscribers?

The newly setup autoresponder would only apply to new submissions.  It will not send emails for any submissions received prior to setting it up.
