How do I remove the black background highlight when clicking on a field to fill it in?

    To remove that, please do the following:

    1. Load the form into the form builder and while on the Setup & Embed tab, click Preferences

    2. When the Preferences box pops up, click the Field Styles tab

    3. Change the Highlight Effect from Enabled to Disabled and click "Close Settings"

    4. Save the form

    (Click image to zoom to actual size)

    If you need help with anything else, do let us know.

    Incidentally, if you also wish to remove the pink background when a field is incorrectly filled, inject the following CSS:

    .form-line-error {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0;
    }

    @FloriDarts,

    You are right, the form Preferences menu has been reworked, so that the above steps no longer work.

    This is currently possible to "disable" the highlight effect via Form Designer.

    Here is a quick animation:

    this does not work, it still highlights the text as black now though so on
    a black background the writing cannot be seen. need to just add the option
    that was there before. it made sense and it worked.
    Thanks!

    look at this example https://www.jotform.us/form/61807941427157?preview=true
    when you put your mouse over anything the text turns black - i have tried
    all the css examples and even though i deleted all the css examples my form
    is now stuck with a white back ground and will not let me change it to
    black at all.... the form is here
    https://www.jotform.us/form/61804619469162?preview=true
    and originally it was black background and black frame with white text -
    when clicking or mousing over anything it would turn text black. but now it
    is stuck as white background with black text, no matter what i do to the
    settings.
    Thanks!
