Asked by Lyza on September 22, 2016 at 04:12 AM

I follow the steps in securing the form with SSL, and now the email i recieved is encrypted and cannot be read, how to return my form into not encrypted?

This is a re-post of a comment on How do I Receive SSL Submissions?

There is no longer an option for turning on SSL, because all our forms have been secured with SSL for quite some time now:

What you are referring to is a different feature, called encrypted forms. Form encryption adds yet another layer of encryption over already secure data, and such encrypted information can only be read by you when you are using your private encryption key.

With encrypted forms, as your data is encrypted in such a way that now even us (JotForm) can view the responses you receive, many of our functions such as sending of email alerts, or generating PDF files from your submissions can no longer work. If you need these functionalities, you should turn off form encryption on your form, which you can do by going to your form's Preferences:

Simply switch to the Advanced tab of your Preferences, scroll down the page, and set Encrypt Form Data to NO:

You can also read more about what form encryption is, how to use it, and which functions cannot work when form encryption is enabled in the following guide:
