Square Integration: Why the 'read transactions history' permission is required?

Hi. I was considering enabling square to use with my forms, however I do not feel comfortable with allowing JotForm to have access to all previous and future transaction history. Can you explain this?

    Thanks,

    Kate

I would like to assure you that we highly respect the privacy of our users. You can check our privacy policy here.

I do not believe that we have any tools to review your Square transactions history, but those permissions are probably required by the integration itself to receive the information about successfully completed transactions. I have forwarded your inquiry to our developers to confirm this.

We will let you know when we have any updates for you.

First off, apologies for the very late reply. I am part of the engineering team who worked on JotForm's Square integration.

Mike's explanation is accurate. We use the said permission to access information about transactions that were successfully made through JotForm.

Also, you can be assured that JotForm will never use this permission to gain information that is outside of the boundaries of JotForm's service. Again, you can refer to our privacy policy.

Hope this answers your question clearly. Feel free to let us know if you have any other issues or concerns.
