Where do the file uploads go, how secure is it and how long do they stay there?

Asked by esdwebforms on May 11, 2012 at 07:54 PM

    Hi there,

I'm looking to use this for our organization and a concern has been raised about potentially confidential information contained in the file uploads. I was taking a look at the redirect for a submission and it appears that you're using Amazon cloud storage for the files, is this correct? Is there any security on who has access to those files? How long do the files stay there?

I've integrated with Google Docs for the form data (thanks for that - awesome feature!), and would like to also integrate with Google Drive for the file uploads. This gives folks here a little more peace of mind (although both are in the cloud it seems).

I see that currently you only have Dropbox integration. This could work for now. If I enable SSL and send the files to Dropbox, they are not stored anywhere else on your servers (or cloud storage), right?

    Thanks for your help!

Yes, that's correct. Files are stored securely and only you being the form owner can access those files, unless you shared it somewhere else. Submission files might be stored up to 1 year. Of course, you can download these files for your own copy/backup.

Our team are still planning to go with Google Drive. I can't give you any further information's, but we'll let you know if there are any improvement news about this.

We still store this files on our servers for offsite secure backup purposes.

Hope this answers your queries, let us know if you have any further questions or concerns. Thanks for choosing JotForm!

We have just released integration with Google Drive. It works similar to the dropbox integration. Your uploaded files are sent to your drive folder.
