Jotform makes it easy to add video content to your form with the YouTube Video widget, letting you embed videos that play directly inside your form so you can share instructions, demonstrations, or announcements without sending users to another page.
Here are a few ways to use it:
- Add tutorial or explainer videos to guide users through your form.
- Showcase product demos, presentations, or announcements.
- Provide clear visual instructions for applications or surveys.
- Keep users engaged while they complete longer forms.
Adding and Setting Up the YouTube Video Widget
Whether you’re creating a new form or updating an existing one, you can add and set up the Youtube Widget in a few easy steps. Here’s how to do it:
- In Form Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the page.
- Now, in the Form Elements menu, under the Widgets tab, search for YouTube and click on it. Or, just drag and drop it to where you want it to be on your form.
- Next, in the Widget Settings window that opens on the right side of the page, enter YouTube Video URL in the URL Input box. If you’re not sure where to find these, check out Getting the Youtube URL below.
- Once you’re done, click on Update.

Note
- Only Public and Unlisted YouTube URLs can be embedded. Private videos are not supported.

Getting the YouTube URL
If you don’t have your YouTube URL yet or aren’t sure how to get one, it’s easy to do. Here’s how you can get it:
- Go to YouTube, find your video, and click on Share at the bottom of the video.
- Now, in the Share window that opens, click on Copy to copy the link of the YouTube URL, and you’re all set.
