Difficulty getting unique field names for each question

    Hi

We have quite a complicated form that will be used to gain peoples medical history, specific to maternity.  Part of this means asking people about previous pregnancies.  Women can provide details on up to 3 previous pregnancies.  As the data required for each pregnancy i cloned the questions and re-labelled.  However this has meant that each question wasn't given a unique field name (i assume it would have been) and consequently the responses for different pregnancies are all muddled up or all three contain the same details.

I have tried changing the question names to see if this would trigger a change in field name,  which I thought was working but have since realised that it isn't.

    Can you please help?

    thanks

I tried looking at your history and I cannot seem to find the issue there. Would you mind letting us know how to replicate the problem? What are the fields that are affected? Did you clone the fields from its context menu or through the Manage Multiple Fields option?

I tried this on my end, I cannot replicate it. When you duplicate a field, a new unique name should be automatically assigned to the duplicated field. This is how it should suppose to work.

I have also cloned your form and did the duplicates there, still, I cannot replicate the problem either by duplicate option from the field properties or by manage multiple fields option. Here's my cloned form: https://form.jotform.com/63641544805962

You can view the source codes by entering this URL in the address bar:

Search for (1) How many weeks did this pregnancy No.1 last? (1), you'll see no duplicate on the field name:

I look forward to your reply.

    Hi

Thank you for getting back to me.

I'm trying to remember how I duplicated them....maybe I did use the field manager app?  Could that be the problem?

If needed I can redo it but I need to know how to do this so the problem doesn't re-occur.

The problem that I have identified is in the email notification which we are using as report as we have to change the order of the fields (long story!).  This is where I can see the field names and see that they are duplicated....please see screenshot

    thanks

    Katie

    Hello Katie,

Unfortunately the screenshot did not appear on the forum. If you have made a reply via email, please visit this page and upload the image here: https://www.jotform.com/answers/1021841

I cannot seem to find a way to replicate the problem. Are you pre-filling the fields using URL parameters?

We'll look forward to your response.

    Thanks.

    Hi

If you go into the emails you will see one called test.  if you scroll down you will see that the field names are replicated from one pregnancy to the next.  I think this is because I used the field manager app to duplicate the fields.

Either way is it possible to change the name of the field names in the 'unique name' section of the fields preferences or do I need to rebuild the whole thing?

sorry I tried to lead the screen shot twice and it seemed to be there but never uploaded.

    thanks

    Hi Katie,

is it possible to change the name of the field names in the 'unique name' section of the fields preferences or do I need to rebuild the whole thing?

No, you do not need to rebuild the whole thing. You can specify the unique names of each field manually. Please see how you can do it:

Upon clicking the advanced tab, please scroll down and click field details. There you will find the unique name of your field and you can edit it easily:

    I hope this helps.
