I am new to jot form and I am starting out with the free program to see if the template i have created will work for my customer needs. If I am starting to reach any of the limits under the Free Plan will I get a notification email or will I just need to be responsible for checking the storage levels from my account page?
Also, is there a way to delete submissions/information after it is no longer needed to clear up storage space?

You will be notified via email if you are about to reach the form limits or if you exceeded the limits. The email will suggest you to upgrade the plan, if you don't upgrade, your account will be in overlimit status.
Also, the monthly reset happens every 1st day of the month.

Yes, you can delete the submission with uploaded files to clear your storage space. Here's a guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/377-How-to-Delete-Form-Submission-Data.
Please take note that storage space is different from the monthly submissions. Even if you delete a submission, the submission counter will not be affected.
