Additional features?

    Hi,

I have a few questions on additional features that I could use your help with, see below:

    1. Is there is an auto populate option on jotform? For example, when someone uploads a resume, it would automatically pick out the necessary information and fill out the rest of the form.

    2. Is there a way to see specific data on jotform users? For example, I know we can see the aggregate amount of time someone spends on filling in the jotform, is it possible to see how long each person spends on each section? Or which section people spend the most amount of time?

    3. Is it possible to have the jotform set up in multiple pages, rather than one long one? For example, having a 'next' button that would direct users to a second page that would have additional questions.

    Thanks!

    Best,
    Dinali

Yes, there is a way to auto-populate fields in JotForm, please see this guide: Prepopulating Fields to Your JotForm via URL Parameters.

    Sample URL: https://form.jotform.com/53533976064967??fullName[prefix]=Dr.&fullName[first]=John&fullName[middle]=Doe&fullName[last]=Smith&fullName[suffix]=M.D.&selections30=Pillow&media=Internet&address=Katipunan,ZN%207109,%20Philippines&pleaseChoose=Metal,Gold,Wood

You can also automatically pass the data to another form, please see this guide: How to Automatically Pass Form Data to Another Form

    2. Is there a way to see specific data on jotform users? For example, I know we can see the aggregate amount of time someone spends on filling in the jotform, is it possible to see how long each person spends on each section? Or which section people spend the most amount of time?

We have Timer tracker widget that allows you to track down the time of the users who is filling out your form. This widget does not appear on your form since the timing is anonymous.

You can also try the Fancy Timer widget that shows an animation time counter which tracks how long the user will use to complete the form.

    3. Is it possible to have the jotform set up in multiple pages, rather than one long one? For example, having a 'next' button that would direct users to a second page that would have additional questions.

You can set up your form in multiple pages rather than a long form. Just add a page break on your form. Please see the image below:

You may also want to add Form Tabs widget which allows you to navigate from multiple pages on your form.

If you have questions, please let us know.

    Hi Chriistian,

Thanks for your responses, they are really helpful. Regarding question #2, is there a way to track the time a user spends on each question in the form rather than the aggregate time spent on the entire form?

    Thanks,

    Dinali

Unfortunately, no. However, if you have the questions displayed one per page, you may consider adding the Timer widget on each page. The timer widget starts counting when the page is accessed. The submission will be displaying the timer value as shown below:

    Hope this information helps!

    Hi,

Thanks for your assistance. I have a follow-up question your response to question #1. I read through the solutions you provided, but I'm not sure that's what I'm looking for.

In our form, we have sections to enter name, address, phone number, education experience, and resume upload. Is it possible for the the following sections: name, address, phone number, educaiton experience to get auto-populated based on the resume the user uploads to the form?

    Thanks,
    Dinali

get auto-populated based on the resume the user uploads to the form?

If the resume you mean is another form, then yes, you can pass the data to another form so that it will be prepopulated once your form is loaded. Please see this guide: How to Automatically Pass Form Data to Another Form.

However, if you mean the resume (a Docx file, PDF file, etc.) unfortunately, this is not possible. You can only pass the data to pre-populate the other form if its a Form in JotForm.
