How can I create a field on my form that displays the result total for the calculated fields?

You could assign calculation values to the questions in your form, and then get the total for all those answered ones, this guide will help you to assign a calculation value: https://www.jotform.com/help/301-How-to-Assign-Calculation-Value
And this guide will help you to perform calculation on your form: https://www.jotform.com/help/259-How-to-Perform-Form-Calculation-Using-a-Widget
You may also provide us more details about what you're trying to achieve, for example, if you're trying to get a score based on your answers, you could also share us the link to the form you're working on, we will be glad to take a look.

Example:
1. Question number 1?
a. Answer "a" is worth 2 points
b. Answer "b" is worth 3 points
c. Answer "c" is worth 4 points
2. Question number 2?
a. Answer "a" is worth 2 points
b. Answer "b" is worth 3 points
c. Answer "c" is worth 4 points
I would like a field to show the combined total points of the answers.
For instance, if the the surveyor chose answer "b" for question 1 and answer "c" for question 2, total points would be 7.
Thank you.

Yes, following the guides I provided above will help you to achieve exactly what you want, I've also created a form based on your example, here's the link where you can see how it works: https://form.jotformpro.com/70894209251963
On the guides shared above you will find how to set a value to the field options and how to get the total calculated as well.
