Spreadsheet to Form widget feature request to use Google Sheet instead of Excel

Is there a way that this form can be integrated with google sheets? My data is constantly changing and having an autosync would be so helpful. I have to keep removing my excel spreadsheet and then reattaching everytime something changes.

    Thanks so much!

    Hi Tracey,

Thanks for reaching out to us for help. It's easy to integrate your form with Google Sheets. Let me show you how to set that up:

    • In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen, click on Settings.
    • In the Settings menu, click on the Integrations option and look for Google Sheets.
    • Now, select and connect your Google account.

    • Select an option.
    • Choose your form fields.
    • Click on Save, and that's it, you're done.

We also have a guide about Google Sheets integration that you can check out.

Reach out again if you need any more help.

That's not what I am asking. In the Wizard Spreadsheet to Form I would like to sync a google sheet instead of an Excel file for the reasons I initially listed. Is this possible?

    Thank you,

    Tracey

    Hi Tracey,

Thanks for getting back to us. Yes, you can use Google Sheet to use the Spreadsheet to Form Widget. In your Google Sheet, you can just download it as a .xlsx file. So long as the files are in XLS or XLSX format, then it should work.

Please note that this will still not auto-sync your data from your Google Sheet to your form. You will still need to re-upload the sheet.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

Same question as Tracey... and unfortunately guessing the answer is no... :(

Will you consider a version of the widget that connects DYNAMICALLY to the Google sheet (or Excel on SharePoint...?) rather than having to always update the file through a manual process?

Some updates happen every day or 2 days. That is not efficient.

OR... can you propose a better way to accomplish the same result? (look up data in a table based on a key entered in a field and populate other fields)

    Hi good360_forms,

Thanks for using Jotform. You're right! It's not possible to use Google Spreadsheet instead of the Excel sheet for the Spreadsheet to Form widget. While the feature you’re looking for isn’t currently available, rest assured we’re always working to add new services and features to Jotform. I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our Developers. When or if it's implemented depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

I created a separate feature in a different thread that is linked to your account. So that you'll get an update once this feature is available. You can view the ticket here.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
