Good morning
I am trying to work out why the ‘reply to’ email address was defaulting to an email given in the form (in my case to a wholly inappropriate email address). By a process of elimination it seems to take the First email given on the submitted form which seems rather ‘random’.

Hello Bernadette,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Are you referring to the reply to email setting in the notification email? The default email notification sets the reply-to-email to the first email field placed in the form. If you'd like to remove it, you can set it to the Please Select option on the predefined selections. Here's an example:
