The global countdown timer not visible in the published form

    Hello,

I have the global countdown timer on the 3rd page, however, it's not visible neither in the builder nor in the published format of the form. I have attached how it looks in the builder.

    Why is that?

Moreover, I have the following questions:

1- If I have the global countdown timer on the third page, will it start the countdown only when

the user reaches that page? or will it start as soon as someone opens the form, meaning from page 1?

2- Can it auto submit even if all the questions are "Required"?

    Hello,

So, I opened the form today, the countdown timer is visible, not sure what happened.

However, is it possible to make it start only on the 3rd page and not the first?

The thing is, I am creating a quiz. The first 2 pages are just submitting general information such as the name and email address.

The actual quiz starts on the third page and I want it to auto-submit after 5 minutes. I need the auto-submit feature that's why I am using the global countdown.

Is there another timer that comes with this feature that I can insert on the third page? Or is there something I can do with the countdown timer to make it start on the third page?

Yes, you can jump to a specific page to start your form and even pre-fill the fields on page 1. Here is a sample link on how to make your form start to page 3.

    https://form.jotform.me/52584126389464?jumpToPage=3

Now if you wish to have the two fields in the 1st page to be pre-filled, you can add the parameters:

    https://form.jotform.me/52584126389464?jumpToPage=3&input49=[selectedDefault Value]&input19=[yourAnswer]

Note, you can replace those enclosed with [ and ] with your choice of answer or selection.

If you have questions or if you need further clarification, please let us know.

No, I do not want any fields to be prefilled nor do I want to jump/skip a page.

The user will fill in his unique information in the first 2 pages. Then on page 3, he will start the quiz.

The global countdown timer is set to start the countdown from the very first page. However, what I want is to start the countdown only when the user reaches page 3.

We are sorry for this inconvenience.

First of all, please note that once you add "Global CountDown" widget to your form, it will be shown up on each pages of your form as stated in the following guide:

    https://widgets.jotform.com/widget/global_countdown

If you want this widget start only when the user reaches to the third page, I can suggest you another workaround. Because, it is not possible to set a condition to make this widget starts only under a specific condition. So, my suggestion is:

1.Split your form two different forms.

Form 1: Includes page 1 and page 2 of your current form.

Form 2: Includes only the third page of your current form.

    2. Add Global Countdown widget only to the Form 2.

    3. Set Form 1 Thank you page as Redirected to an external link and paste the Form 2's URL to there.

    https://www.jotform.com/help/38-Redirecting-Users-to-a-Different-Page

With this way, once your users submit the Form 1, they will be redirected to the Form 2 and the Global Countdown will start at that time only.

I hope, this helps you. If you need any further assistance by our side, please do let us know.

    Hello,

I decided to keep the global countdown widget after all.

however, I cannot see it in the submission excel sheet. Can't I know how much time each person took to fill in the form?

I have the auto-submit option set to 12 minutes. However, I would also like to know how much time it took them to fill the form if less than 12 minutes.

    Is it doable?

I also added the fancy timer, I thought maybe this way I can register the time it's taking the user to fill in the form. I hid the fancy timer so that the user would not see 2 timers (global widget + fancy timer). I still did not see any time registered on the submissions list.

I really need to know how much time the users are taking to fill in the form

I understand that you would like to track how much time it took them to fill the form and it should be shown in the Excel report, however, it seems that the result for the Fancy timer doesn't show. If this is the case, instead of Fanct timer widget, please use the Time Tracker Widget. In this way, it tracks and shows the total time it took to fill out the form, plus, when you add this on your form, it is already hidden.

Let us know if you need more help.

    Thanks for your help Chriistian!

The Timer Tracker Widget did work. Does it record the time spend on the whole form? or just the page where it's inserted?

The Timer Tracker widget records the time spent on the whole form.

I hope this information helps. Contact us again if you have questions.
