How can I automatically generate a form submission for a new client?

We use Jotform to gather clients requirements after an order is placed - but it's a pain asking them to have to click the new form link and tell them to go through the form (6 pages) at least once so that they can generate a personalized form submission entry that they can then edit later and that we can review.

I'd like to be able to automatically create a new form submission and then give the client that form ID (prepopulated with values like name etc) in an edit link and say "Here is your Form, Ready To Go!"

Can this be done? If so how?

    Many thanks

If you have the user's data in an Excel spreadsheet, you may populate the user's data on the form by using a unique field. This is made possible by using the Spreadsheet to Form widget. Please refer to the guide below that can help you with this.

Hope it works for you. Please get back to us if you need any further assistance. We will be happy to help.

Hi - It's been about a year since I asked this question initially, and so I am wondering if there are new fabulous features that might help to do this!?

In summary - at the end of of my website order process, a button says "Click here to see our Jotform and tell us your requirements!" - we allow clients to then fill in a Jotform (telling us their requirements) - and then once submitted, they will get the EDIT link which allows them to edit their Jotform submission at any time to update their 'requirements'.

The problem is that if the client doesn't click that button at the end of our order process, they never create their Jotform submission.
So, what I want is a method that actually creates a Jotform submission automatically at the end of my order process, AND then I can more simply present the client with their EDIT link for their specific requirements submission. (then we have the EDIT link in our system and we can provide it to them as needed etc).

By doing this, we would have a defined EDIT link for every order that comes in and we wont be relying on clients having to go through the process once to just create the initial jotform submission.

Is this a method that can now done? How? If not, can you suggest any other approaches we could use to create the same effect?

    Many thanks!

Hey @bluefiregroup - This is the point in your workflow where I can suggest another approach. Since the form comes after your website's order processing, there's no option/feature in JotForm that can help with your requirement.

I'm hoping you manage your own website (or your developer does) and you have a direct way of changing your website's source code at will. If you do, my recommendation is to set up a page redirect after the order process.

    So, instead of:

Order > a page shows with a button that says "Click here..." > user submits the form > then gets the edit link in the autoresponder

You will have a shorter and direct way of:

Order > redirect to the form directly > user submits the form > then gets the edit link in the autoresponder
