Stuck on please wait while creating a Recurrent Payment Form

Asked on March 23, 2024 at 11:12 PM

    Hello,

I would like to create a one-time and monthly subscription option for the following form: https://form.jotform.com/240827569938171.

I want to offer the one-time or monthly payment option on the total amount instead of having my user select a one-time or monthly subscription option per offering.

I am also hoping to accept payments via ACH.

    How can I accomplish this?

    Thank you!

    Hi Ge,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. It is possible to collect a recurring and a one-time charge by changing the Payment Type to Sell Subscriptions; however, I'm afraid it is not possible to use Stripe ACH to sell subscriptions. I'll explain with the Square integration. Check out my example below:

    1. Click on the payment field.
    2. Click on its Wand icon.
    3. Select Sell Subscriptions from the Payment Type dropdown.
    4. Click on the green Continue button at the bottom.

After following the steps above, you'll get a screen from which you can set up subscriptions. I'll walk you through creating a one-time payment:

    1. Click on the Create New Subscription button.
    2. Name the product.
    3. Select 1 from the Number of Payments dropdown.
    4. Toggle on the Variable Price, so users still have the freedom to decide on the amount.
    5. Click on the Save button.

This is how to set up the recurring subscription:

    1. Click on the Create New Subscription button.
    2. Name the product.
    3. Select No Limit from the Number of Payments dropdown.
    4. Toggle on the Variable Price, so users still have the freedom to decide on the amount.
    5. Click on the Save button.

    Hello,

This form still doesn't give me the functionality I'm seeking. Is it possible to speak with a developer?

    Here's the current form: https://form.jotform.com/240827569938171

It doesn't allow me to track inventory and also looks like a lot of text.

    Thank you.

    Hi Ge,

Thanks for getting back to us. I see that the functionality provided by my colleague works correctly, as it allows one-time payment and installment. Can you tell us more about what you are trying to achieve on your form?

If what you are trying to achieve is not possible, and we cannot find any workaround to achieve your form requirements, then we can escalate it to our developers.

Once we hear back from you, we can move forward with a solution.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I could definitely use a developer's help on this one.

Background: I run a STEM education nonprofit organization. We enroll each student in one of four classes: 1st-3rd grade, 3rd-5th grade, 5th-8th grade, and 8th-12th grade. Each class has limited space and must be capped. Currently, this is our enrollment form, which we've used for years: STEM Skool Enrollment (jotform.com). Our users can enroll their students in any course and may enroll multiple students in the same course.

Recently, we have increased our prices, and I would like to give parents the option to choose a 2- or 4-month tuition installment plan while also keeping the ability to cap class sizes.

In addition to being visually overwhelming, the subscription plan enrollment form I just created (STEM Skool Enrollment (jotform.com)) does not allow users to enroll one or more students in a specific class, which, in turn, prevents me from capping class size.

My ideal would be a single enrollment form that allows users to:

    • Select the appropriate grade level(s) for their student(s) until a class reaches capacity.
    • Choose upfront, 2-installment, or 4-installment payments.

I'm happy to set up a call to explain more.

    Thanks so much.

    Hi Ge,

Thanks for your feedback. I’ll need a bit of time to look into this. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

We really appreciate your patience and understanding while we look into this.

    Hi Ge,

Thanks again for the patience, we really appreciate it. We don’t currently offer live phone support. If you have any questions, just reply to this thread, or you can create a forum thread from the Contact Us page. We’ll be happy to help.

I've cloned the form, and it seems to be supplemented well. The only thing that's missing, based on the needs stated on your most current response, is tracking the number of enrollees based on grade level until a certain class capacity is reached. I believe what you're looking for here is the Inventory widget. Include it in your online form, indicate how many slots available for each grade level, and after it has been filled out, form users will be prevented to choose the same option. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, click Add Form Element on the left and go to Widgets tab.
    2. Search for Inventory and add it into your form. Make sure to add 4 for each grade level range.

    3. After adding the widgets, start modifying it by clicking the wand (Widget Settings) icon, if the settings tab doesn't show automatically.
    4. Next, change the widget name to every grade level (e.g., 3rd-5th Grade). For this example, the maximum Available Quantity is set to 30, assuming that every class only accept up to that certain number of students.
    5. Scroll down to Quantity Range to set the maximum number of students to select from the dropdown per grade level. Since you set your form to 4 per submission, this sample is also set that way.
    6. Once done, scroll down to the bottom and click Update Widget.
    7. Do this to all the widgets in your form. Stuck on please wait while creating a Recurrent Payment Form Image 2 Screenshot 61

Once done, you can remove the dropdown you originally added named "How many students are you enrolling this session?" as it is not needed anymore.

    Here's the form when previewed:

Since the submission and the selection of slots, the numbers were reduced when the form checked again in Form Builder, as seen on the screenshot below:

Give it a try and let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks so much for these detailed instructions. I was able to copy this form. However, with the inventory widget in place, my payment system no longer loads. Once the form is filled out, the submit button no longer works. Here's the form: STEM Skool Enrollment (jotform.com)

    Hi Ge,

Thanks for waiting. Could you try deleting your current product list, then add it again? I did this on a cloned form and the payment options showed up; however, before deleting, please download all submission data to avoid data loss. After downloading, select your product list, then click on the trash can icon:

Go to Payments, then add PayPal Business:

It should now show the payment option:

Thanks for getting back to us. I'm sorry that this is happening. I checked your form and configuration settings and it looks like it was configured correctly. I also tried testing your form by attempting to make a payment and the submit button was working as expected. See the screencast below:

As you can see, I'm being redirected to a Paypal Account to Login to make a payment.

Thank you for getting back to Jotform Support and letting us know about this. I replicated the issue using your form, a cloned form, and a form I created with the Inventory widget and PayPal Business payment integration.

I've escalated the issue to our Developers to have this further checked. We cannot provide you with an ETA but we will inform you as soon as we receive an update from them.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
