How to prefill data fields to another form.

I'm trying to prefill the fill-in-the-blank portion of my form using an general form where users provide information one step at a time.

The pre-fill settings on the second form are finding all of the entry data, but in the form where I need to place the data, it's only finding the "date" field to fill and not any of the fill-in-the-blank options for placement.

    Hi Johannes_Tiffany,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Yes, you can only prefill data on the same field only. We do have a guide on How to Prepopulate Form Fields With Data From Other Tables that you can check. Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In Form Builder, Choose Publish.
    2. Click on Prefill on the left side of the page.
    3. Select Tables Prefill from the options.

    4. After the steps above, you'll be asked to select the table that you will use as the source data. You can start matching the fields that will be populated.

    5. After setting up the prefill, you can start creating the new prefill by clicking on the Add new prefill button. You will be asked to select the table row that you want to populate the form. You can copy the URL and share it or send an email invitation. How to prefill data fields to another form Screenshot 62
Give it a try and let us know if you have any other questions.

So even using the tables method, the only field in my form it's finding to fill is the date field. Does this work for fill in the blank entry?

Also- I have this as a form in a series on an app, that's how I'd like it to prefill (that way the app experience is seamless and progressive.) Will this only work if I share the link with them for the second form (in essence, going around the app?)

    Hi Johannes_Tiffany,

Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. To confirm, prefill will be done in a fill in the blank field? Unfortunately, it's not possible to prefill the Fill in the Blank field at the moment. Below are the only fields that support such a function:

We also have a guide about Jotform Prefill that you can check out.

Let us know if you need any more help.

Fill in the Blank is listed as one of the options that support that function in the list you screenshotted? Is the Jotform Prefill guide wrong?

    HI Tiffany,

Thanks for reaching back to Jotform. I'm sorry you're having issues with Prefilling your form. Can you share the link to the forms you are trying to use for Prefill? Also, can you share the Prefill method you were trying to use?

After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.

    Carrissa,

I'm trying to do Form to Prefill since fill-in-the-blank is listed as a supported field type for that.

    Thanks,
