How to Create an SMTP for Microsoft

    Hello,

When someone submits a form, we want to send them a copy of what they've submitted. Instead of the @jotform email address, we want this to come from our domain email address. We see how to do it, but where do we find the information that Jotform needs? Our email is hosted through Microsoft.

    Hi Devin,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. What you want to do is possible by creating an SMTP on your account. Let me show you how:

    1. On the My Forms page, hover over your mouse to the Profile Avatar at the upper right side of the page and click Settings.

    2. Click on Settings on the left side of the screen.
    3. Scroll down to the Sender Emails section and click the Edit button.
    4. Enter the SMTP details. After entering the details of your SMTP, click the Send Test Email button to confirm that everything is working. If it works, click the Add Email button. Otherwise, double-check the SMTP details and correct them.

Also, take note that for security reasons, Microsoft has by default, disabled the SMTP authentication globally. To add an email account as a Custom Sender Email, you'll need to enable it on a per-account basis.

You also need to generate a special app password set-up, you can check out the guide on this link. As for the "You've reached the daily email test limit" Error, you will need to wait for 24 hours to test your SMTP again as the daily limits reset every 24 hours. You can also check out the guides below for more information on setting up SMTP for Microsoft:

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

In the downtime between the original request and this reply.

I've reached out to Microsoft regarding the setup of the SMTP, and they've advised that we check if Jotform supports 0-auth.

I've otherwise been unsuccessful in setting up this feature using the instructions provided. The error I consistently run into "An error has occured" when running the test on the SMTP info input. Very non-descript and nigh impossible to troubleshoot.

SMTP Auth has been enabled on the microsoft admin panel for the email address we would like to have act as the sender.

    Hi Devin,

Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now. Currently, OAuth or OAuth2 authentication is not yet supported with our SMTP.

We've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
