Hi Craig,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm sorry you're having difficulties with this. It is really easy to encrypt your form. Let me show you how:
- In the Form Builder, go to the Settings tab.
- Look for Encrypt Form Data and toggle it to Yes.
Use Gmail or Facebook to verify your account, or enter your Jotform account password. And you need to add up to 16 characters.
Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

Hi Craig,
Thanks for getting back to us. Currently, forms created using Smart PDF form builder or by uploading PDF into the Smart PDF form builder do not support form encryption which is why you are not seeing the encrypt button.
Only forms that are manually created on the basic/standard form builder support form encryption. Unfortunately, there is no workaround to enable encryption on the Smart forms builder tool.
I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
