Alternatives to SMTP authentication

    Hi there

My organization uses jotforms, and currently use SMTP authentication to send from our own email addresses.

We are also required to comply with Cyber Essentials, which dictates that all O365 accounts MUST have MFA enabled.

Unfortunately, this stops SMTP authentication from working. Please can you let me know if there is an alternative solution, as if this cannot be addressed we will need to move away from Jotforms in favour of another solution.

More and more organizations are moving towards Cyber Essentials compliance, meaning that more and more of your customers will need this to be addressed in order to justify the continued use of Jotform.

    Kind Regards

    Hi Bill,

Thanks for patiently waiting. While the feature you’re looking for isn’t currently available, rest assured we’re always working to add new services and features to Jotform. I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. When or if it's implemented depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

In the meantime, please try creating an app password and using it as your password while setting up SMTP. This guide will show you how to create an app password. You can also try the SMTP settings below:

    • SMTP Server: smtp.office365.com
    • Port: 587
    • Username: Your full Microsoft 365 email address
    • Password: The password associated with your Microsoft 365 email address.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.
