Condition to send email notification to email address entered in a field

My own email address seems to have auto-populated in the field where an email address should be that was input by the form user, and simply deleting my email address and manually typing the entry does not work.

If you want to conditionally send an email notification to the email address entered in an email field in your form, then you need to use the email field's variable or {uniqueName} as the recipient. This guide explains how you can get that information — How-to-Find-Field-IDs-and-Names

As for the condition:

The condition means that if the Reference #1 - Email field is filled, Friend reference 1 (email notification) will be sent to the email address entered in the Reference #1 - Email field.
