I have an addition of a couple of dozen fields that I want done whenever one of those fields gets updated. How do I do that?

    Hi Eric,

Thanks for reaching out to JotForm Support. I checked your condition and see that it should work if you just remove the extra + sign before your fields. Check out my screenshot below to see what I mean.

You can also check out our Form Calculation widget as an alternative way of performing calculations on the form.

Thank you. It seems to be working. What does keeping the + at the start of the series cause?

    Hi Eric,

You're very much welcome. When you keep the + at the start of the series, the system sees it as Null + Form Field; therefore, it won't display your desired calculation.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

I also used "Fieldname NOT EQUAL TO -1" as a statement that would always be true. Is that legitimate? Is there a better way?

    Hi Eric,

That formula is actually a clever way to get a condition to always be true. If you don't want to set up conditions and just calculate fields regardless of the value of your Final Total, you can use the Form Calculation widget as your Final Total Field instead. The widget is very straightforward. Let me show you how to use it:

    • Add Form Calculation widget to the form.
    • Click on the Wand Icon beside it.
    • Create your calculation on the box the appears on the right.Conditions: How to get total of a couple of dozen fields? Image 1 Screenshot 20

That's it. Give it a try and let us know if you need any more help.

You can make this public. There is nothing I am worrying about here.
