Why can't I change the unique field names?

I am a new customer and I think there should be a way to change these feild names, they can still be unique, its just a simple check to validate after users have made the change. Please can you ask the developers idf there is a work around. The feildnames provided to very messy.

Users won't see these names; instead, they'll see the actual field labels and instructions you've set up in the form. These unique names are only used to prepopulate form fields using URLs.
