How to fix Date Format when being downloaded as CSV

I have set up the date field on my form with the format DD-MM-YYYY, but when I download the submissions to csv, and then open it in Excel, the date field is displaying MM/DD/YYYY which means that some entries are being treated as text and others are displaying incorrectly. e.g. a date of birth which is 4th September 1976, was entered in the form in the three field boxes as 04 09 1976, but it is showing as 9/04/1976 and another date 21st November 1977 (entered as 21 11 1977) is showing as 11/21/1977. Changing the date format in Excel (for example to d-mmm-yyyy) does not fix it. The first date converts to 9-Apr-1976 (which is incorrect) and the second date doesn't convert at all. How do I fix this problem?

    Hi Bruce,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I’m sorry that this is happening. I see that you'd like to change the date format to DD-MM-YYYY, and this can be easily done by adjusting the settings in your Jotform Tables. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Tables, click the Column date drop down.
    2. Scroll down and click Date Format.
    3. Select your desired Format. How to fix Date Format when being downloaded as CSV Image 1 Screenshot 30

Thanks. That has worked. I changed the format for each column with dates.
    *
Is there a global setting that will do the same or is it something that has to be done for each individual date column?
    * Can this format be set as a default for any future forms or is it something that has to be done for each form?
    Regards,
    Bruce.
