    Good afternoon,

If a data migration is done on JotForm's internal end, how is this communicated to your clients (as to when these migrations happen and what to expect) and how do we retrieve lost data during that migration?

    Hi Amber,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Can you please provide us with some details of your concern? Are you trying to import data in Excel or CSV format to your Jotform account? If so, you can check this guide on how to easily import your data to your Jotform account. If there are missing entries on the import, you can reupload the file so you can completely import them. If this is not what you mean, you can give you some more information so we can get a better understanding of your concern?

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.

Thank you for your prompt response!

While attempting to click the "Edit Submissions" option to edit a previously submitted form, an error message generates (see image below).

I first reached out to our IT department for assistance.
    They responded with the following:
"Upon checking, the submissions that generate the error were deleted when JotForm performed a Data Migration last week (4/15/24 - 4/19/24). Those particular submissions will need to be resubmitted in order to obtain the information that was on them."

Per that reply, my questions are:

    1. Was a Data Migration indeed performed recently/during that time frame?

    2. When these are completed, is data typically/historically affected/lost during those updates/migrations?

    3. Are the dates/times of the migrations communicated to the customers in advance to ensure preparations can be made on their end to prevent lost data?

    4. Once a JotForm is submitted, is the data submitted/the link stored somehow within your organization (a cloud or drive?) that could be accessed allowing us to retrieve said "deleted" submissions/data?

Thank you for your time and assistance!

    Hi Amber,

Thanks for reaching back to us. We have not seen any report about data migration last week. For us to investigate the issue, may I ask for the Form URL associated with this submission you'd like to edit? We have this guide on how to locate the Form URL. Also, please provide us the edit link.

Once we have more information, we can help you better.
