How to allow a user to add multiple registrants on a single submission?

I do not even know how to search for this answer, or else I would. I am a 4-H Club leader and I use Jotform to have kids sign up for either rocketry or aerospace classes each week. I use a simple form and every week I send it to my enrolled families. However, some families have multiple children. The way I have the form set up, they have to put one name in, go out, come back in a do a new form. How do I set up the form so that one parent could sign up two kids for rocketry and two others for aerospace? Could I use a table that they would fill in??

    Hi Wendy,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. You can use the configurable list widget as this field will allow the user to add another field if they need one. Take a look at the screencast to see an example:

Let me show you how to get it:

    • In Form Builder, click on the Widgets tab on the Form Element panel on the left.
    • Click or drag a Configurable List widget into your form.
    • Click the field's Wand icon and then customize the Field Configuration as per your requirements.

So I did that - very cool. However, it doesn't put the drop down menu options into different columns. Is there any way that each drop down selections would become its own column? That way I would have a list with the Drop Down choices at the top, and then all those who chose that listed below.

    Hi Wendy,

Thanks for getting back to us. To confirm, do you mean separating the submission data into different columns in the table? If so, unfortunately, that isn't currently possible. As a workaround, you can download the submission data as CSV or Excel and separate the column data there.

Another workaround is using the Show/Hide condition method. You can a field to your form that will ask the user if they want to add another person and then show another field. Here's the link to my clone form that you can test. Let me show you how to create the condition. Considering the second field is hidden by default:

    • In Form Builder, click Settings on the orange bar located at the top.
    • Click the Conditions tab on the left panel.
    • Select the Show/Hide Field condition option.
    • Set the condition as shown in the screenshot below and then click the Save button.

You can add multiple fields as many as you want and just follow the same steps. This way the data will be added in separate columns in Tables.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.
