We want to link our square account to our forms so that we can take payments online. Are we charged a separate transaction fee from JotForm? Or is that included in whichever membership we decide to sign up for?

There is no additional fee when you use any of our available payment integrations — https://apps.jotform.com/category/payment_processing
However, I just would like you to be mindful of the allowed payment submission(s) per plan.
Like regular submissions, payment submissions resets every first of the month.

Or do they not let those payments go through? We are just trying to decide on the right level we need to go with. Thank you for your help!

You will not be put automatically to the next plan in case a limit of the plan you have is no longer sufficient for your current usage.
You will, however, receive an email saying that you have reached a particular limit where you are given a chance to upgrade to prevent any inconvenience on your part.
