I just created a form called Ontario Listing Contract. It is a very large document, but none of the text populated in the build form area. Why won't it populate?

    Hi homeFREE

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I’m really sorry that this is happening. I'll do my best to help you. I've checked out your Ontario Listing Contract. It is set up using Smart PDF Forms. The Smart PDF feature works best with the fillable PDF forms. If there aren't fillable inputs or the PDF is too complex, the toll may not be able to import it. In this case, you will have to manually add the form fields and map them to your PDF documents. Here is a helpful guide you can check out.

I understand how to manually add the form fields, but it's missing all the other info that needs to be visible to the person filling out the form. I need them to read the long text info as they fill in the form fields. It didn't take one single line of info from the entire document. Is there a way I can make this form without having to create the long text from each part of the form? It worked in the past, but isn't working at all in this form.

The document that I'm trying to create is 2 pdf forms combined. I separated them, and now one document will load propertly, but the other one won't. I don't understand what's wrong with the document? Is there anyone I can send the file to so you can see if there is something that can be done to fix it?

    Hello homeFree,

Thanks for getting back to us. The Smart PDF feature works best with fillable PDF forms. If there are no fillable inputs or the PDF is too complex, the tool may not be able to import it. You must manually add the form fields and map this in your pdf document. Please check this guide on Smart PDF forms for more information.

Could you please upload your PDF somewhere (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox) and share a link with us? We want to try the import from our end.

Keep us updated, and let us know if you need any additional help.

    Hi homeFree,

Thanks for the PDF File. I've tested uploading it, but it gives me an error because the PDF is too long. Is this the one document that won't load? If so, I'd suggest splitting this PDF into two again. Can you give it another try and let us know what happens? If you're still having the same issue, we'll do a more in-depth investigation and work on finding a solution.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

I didn’t realize there is a length limit. If I split it in two, can I join them together after?

    Hello homeFree,

Thank you for getting back to Jotform Support. You can add an action link to the Thank You Page of the first form that will redirect the filler to the second form. Please follow the steps and the screencast below:

    1. Go to the Settings tab.
    2. Select the Thank You Page.
    3. Click Action Buttons.
    4. Click the + Create on the Fill Another Form.
    5. Choose the second form.
    6. If there are the same form fields from the first form, you can enable the Set Prefill to prepopulate the form fields so that fillers will not have to add their information again.
    7. Click the Create button.

What is the limit? The other docs that I have at 17 pages and they work fine. This one is only 10 pages and it’s too long? I don’t understand.

    Hi Erin,

Thanks for getting back to us. The SmartPDF supports documents up to 25 pages long. When I checked the PDF that you shared, I was able to replicate the issue. But after investigating further, it seems that some attributes of the file you're using is causing the issue. I've optimized it and tried it again with success. Please check out the screenshot below for my result:

You can download the file on this link. In the future, if you received the same error, try opening the PDF using a different PDF application, and save it again as a PDF. That typically solves the problem.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.

I just tried with the file you sent, and I'm getting the same error. I tried Incognito mode and same thing. Any chance I could send you the full file and you simply create it in my account, and I'll take it from here?

Here is a link to the full document.

    Hi Erin,

I checked the file that you shared and it seems different form the last link that you sent to us. In any case, I've gone ahead and created the SmartPDF forms on your account as requested. They are labelled as Ontario Listing Contract with RECO Guide v2 and Ontario Listing Input Form which can be found on your My forms page.

    Hello Erin,

Thanks for getting back to us and we’re sorry you’re having trouble with this. Smart PDF Editor will try its best to create a perfect copy of your PDF document. But there are instances when the system can't create an exact copy of it, so you have to manually create it using the form elements. Just as seen below:

    • Click on the Add Form Element menu on the left side of the page.
    • Under the Basic tab, scroll down the list, choose the options that you want, and then drag and drop them onto your form.

SmartPDF form is not accepting my PDF Image 1 Screenshot 20 We also have a guide about How to Use Jotform Smart PDF Forms that you can check out.

Keep us updated and let us know if you need any more help.

I am extremely familiar with how to add elements to a form, add conditions, etc. The problem is that the the form is not loading properly from the beginning and I'm getting the error message 502 that JotForm seems to be familiar with. I have been told that the form is too long, but it's only 10 pages, and I have other documents that are 17 pages and work no problem. Is it possible to get one person so see this through to the finish so I don't have a new person responding with no knowledge of the issue I'm having? I sent the link above, but the form had the same issue obviously as the build form is not populated with anything. I need the form to populate. Can someone please help?!

    Hi Erin,

We understand how urgent this matter needs to be addressed. We're sorry if this is happening when you create a Smart PDF form. As my teammate Raymond mentioned, the Smart PDF form builder is having difficulties detecting the field from the original form because of the attributes and the way the PDF file was formatted.

Do the other Smart PDF forms you created have the same attributes and formats as this PDF file you are trying to use? If yes, it would be a great help if you could share some of the forms so that we can investigate why those forms allow you to create a Smart PDF form.

We appreciate you doing this for us, and we’ll wait for your response to proceed.
