Jotform Smart PDF Forms allows you to convert your PDF form to an online form. You can not only collect responses with your online form, but the responses will also populate the original PDF while retaining its layout.
Online forms created with Jotform Smart PDF Forms will have all of the same features and functionality (responsiveness, customization, accessibility, etc.) as other forms created in JotForm.
Please note that Jotform Smart PDF Forms accepts documents that are up to 25 pages long. If your PDF exceeds that number of pages, you will get an error and won’t be able to import the file.
Let’s walk through the process.
Uploading your PDF
First, upload your PDF form.
1. Go to the My Forms page.
2. Click the Create Form button.
3. Click Import Form.
4. Select the Import PDF Form option. This will take you to the upload page.
5. On the upload page, you can drag and drop your PDF or click the Upload PDF Form button to select your file. Upload the file to proceed.
Building Your Form
After the upload is complete, Jotform Smart PDF Forms will take you to the Build Step, where you’ll see the online form (on the left) and the original PDF (on the right) side by side.
Here, you can make adjustments to both your online form and the PDF, such as connecting fields, adding missing and new fields, deleting fields, etc.
Refer to our guide on Connecting Fields for further information: How to Connect Your Online Form Fields with PDFs?
Keep in mind that our online forms are not designed to look like printed forms. After the conversion, your online form might not look like your original uploaded PDF.
You can also use Jotform Smart PDF Forms to convert your PDF forms into standalone online forms by using the connection options.
