How to edit charges before charging through Stripe?

    I have a deposit of $250. I am under the impression that I should be able to edit the price and remove the deposit before processing the payment. I can't figure out how to do this. Both orders so far, I've had to login through strip and credit back the deposit.

    Hello James,

    Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. It is very easy to edit the price or remove a product using the Stripe Processor in your form. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, Select the Deposit and click the Gear Icon.

    2. Under the Basic tab, edit the Price of the product.

    Meanwhile, you can delete the product by clicking the Thrash bin icon.

    I also suggest using the Sandbox mode in your payment processor when testing payments in your form to ensure no charges are made to your bank or card account. It is very easy to set up. Let me walk you through it:

    1. In Form Builder, Select the Stripe Processor and click the Wand Icon.

    2. Select the Gear Icon in the upper right corner of the Payment settings.

    3. Select the Test mode and configure the setting on the pop-up window.

    4. Click Continue to save the settings.

    I'm sorry, I did not explain myself.

    The customer has already gone through the reservation, entered the CC info and the system is waiting for me to click the charge now button.

    I have set this up to charge after the rental is returned with the goal that I will remove the deposit or adjust the billing if there is damage after the trailer is returned.

    I've already confirmed I should be able to do this but, I can't figure out how.

    Hi James,

    Thanks for your patience. Since you are using Stripe, you can charge your customers later with whatever amount necessary (charge amount different from authorized amount). This means you can change the amount. You can do this through your Stripe merchant interface. So you need to login to your Stripe account to change amount. This information is stated on this help guide.
